Black Fang

So, this is the cat behind all the hub-ub.

For 3 years we've maintained that Fang's a stray cat that we happen to feed but, now that he is sick and in the hospital, we've had to face the fact that he's our cat. I understood this the moment he stopped doing all of the annoying things that he normally does, like waking me with his pleas for food or trying to break into the house at every chance. Almost instantly, I missed the little creep.

As much as you try to be mindful of appreciating the things you have, and I do make a concerted effort of thinking this way, I guess you can't fully appreciate what is infront of you until you feel the absence of it (Joni Mitchell was right but I still think she could use some bronzer and mascara). Why are we so defective? Anyone? Anyone? Oprah?

In any event, Fang is taking to the antibiotics and hopefully can get strong enough to fight whatever else is bugging him so that he can start bugging me; I'd love to be able to roll my eyes at him again.
